About
About TakeHome: who we are, what we do, what we don'tAn independent payments guide for people who freelance for overseas clients, and how it's edited and checked.
·What this site is
TakeHome is an independent educational site for freelancers and creators who get paid by overseas clients. When you receive a payment through PayPal, Wise, Payoneer or a stablecoin, the fees, exchange rates and freeze risk all differ, and the amount on the invoice is rarely what reaches you. This site breaks those differences down and adds a take-home comparison calculator, so you can choose how to get paid based on your own situation.
This site is not the official page of any payment platform or exchange. We don't open accounts for you and we don't operate your account. What we can do is gather the checks someone should have told you about in advance.
·How we edit and verify
Every piece follows the same standard: it starts from a real situation, gives a way to judge, the steps, common mistakes and the limits of risk, and where possible walks you through public tools (the Wise pricing calculator, a block explorer, a platform's official fee page) to check for yourself, rather than just handing you a conclusion. Anything about fees, rules or regional availability is written as "go by what the official page shows in real time", because these change and we pin no numbers. Content carries an update date; when rules or our understanding of a question change, we update the page.
·Author
This site is maintained by Yue Han, who spent years settling cross-border remote pay, had funds frozen by PayPal and lost money on FX, and put the checks that should have been there into these pages. The content comes from hands-on experience and public sources, and is for education only, not investment, tax or legal advice. I'm not a financial advisor or a lawyer, and I'm not affiliated with any payment platform or exchange.
·What we don't do
- We don't promise returns or hint at sure profits or low-risk-high-reward.
- We don't collect your passwords, codes, recovery phrases, private keys, KYC documents or API keys.
- We don't impersonate any platform, and we don't offer to register, do KYC or trade on your behalf.
- We don't dress up a referral link as the "only entry" or an "inside channel".
·Referral disclosure
Some outbound links on this site are sponsored referral links. If you sign up through them at an exchange's official page, it doesn't cost you more; the site may earn a commission. It doesn't change how we describe fees, rules and risk. See the referral disclosure.
